ENGLISH TRAINING

English is now the universal business language that links people from many different cultures and language backgrounds. For this reason a sound knowledge of English is increasingly becoming an essential pre-requisite for international employment. In many instances English does not only bridge cultural divides, but an understanding is also vital for work place safety and job instruction reasons. All candidates must pass a simple English test before being accepted for initial screening by AIT.

AIT will not recommend any candidates for overseas employment unless they can demonstrate acceptable levels of spoken English and comprehension. In certain professions candidates may have to reach formal international standards. In other instances vocational English is sufficient.

AIT operates a full time vocational English and IELTS preparation centre in Dhaka, staffed by highly qualified professional English teachers. Vocational English training is delivered to all candidates selected for overseas employment.  This training includes DVD presentations of workplaces and general living conditions in the host country. Every day phrases and idiom likely to be encountered in the workplace are also a part of the interactive learning process. Candidates learn how to fill in simple, but essential, forms such as bank account applications or deposit slips. These sessions prepare candidates for new cultural experiences and also introduce them to differing accents and speech patterns.

AIT is involved in student recruitment for several well known universities and vocational institutes in Australia. Entry to Australia as a student requires formal levels of IELTS certification. Candidates from certain professional sectors, such as Nurses, Medical Doctors and Engineers also require high level IELTS results before being able to register with professional bodies and work in Australia.  In this manner the student service and professional recruitment activities of AIT are linked.  AIT offers IELTS preparation courses depending on the needs of individual clients.
